Winklevoss Twins Lose Yet Again in Facebook Law Suit

Winklevoss TwinsHey, remember those two brothers who were all up in Mark Zuckerberg’s face about Facebook? You know, the Winklevoss twins? Well, you all know (most likely from the movie The Social Network) that these two brothers sued Mark Zuckerberg over Facebook and whatnot and it appears that the brothers are at it again…at least they were.

The latest motion filed against Facebook by the Winklevoss brothers a month ago was just thrown out of court today. It has been reported that a United States District Judge dismissed the motion filed by the Winklevoss brothers last month. The motion claimed that Facebook “intentionally or inadvertently suppressed evidence” during the brothers’ first law suit against Facebook and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg.

One day before this motion was filed, the Winkelvoss brothers, along with their partner Divya Narendra, dropped their long-running legal dispute with Zuckerberg and Facebook for a $65 million settlement as opposed to allowing the trial to be pushed all the way to the United States Supreme Court.

In a statement from the Winklevoss’  lawyer, he stated that the court’s judgment was “expected”. The brothers, along with Narendra, claimed in a lawsuit filed in 2008  that Zuckerberg stole their idea for a social networking site that they called ConnectU. The three partners accepted a $65 million settlement from Zuckerberg and Facebook in exchange for dropping any further litigation against Facebook. However, they trio later said that the settlement was based on an inaccurate valuation of the company.

The site, now worth more than $100 billion, has rejected all claims and stated that the Winklevosses, as well as Narenda, received their fair share. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals also agreed with Facebook and Zuckerberg back in April, upholding the 2008 settlement. That led the Winklevoss twins and Narenda to announce their intention to appeal their case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Seriously? We are still on this? Can’t the Winklevoss twins and that Narenda guy understand that they are not going to win? Whether their claims are true or not, they were paid $65 million, isn’t that enough? Stop using up resources and time on something that doesn’t deserve it. You lost, Winklevoss brothers, you lost, Narenda, get over it!
